DRESSED FOR IT

Hello, yesterday was Monday, a new week began, and I’m wondering if you were dressed for IT. What is IT? IT is your PURPOSE, YOUR BRAND, YOUR CALLING. IT, IS YOUR DREAMS, YOUR DESIRES, IT, IS YOUR JOB. I was going to start off with a different song quote, but I’m sitting at a Friend’s house. Her daughter is watching a show called Daniel tiger they are singing these words “Think about what you’re going to do and pick the clothes that are right for you” This is so perfect for what I’m about to say.

GET UP, DRESS UP, SHOW UP FOR YOUR JOB, YOUR PURPOSE, YOUR CALLING, AND YOUR BRAND. It is very important in the times we are in today, that we show up on time for our purpose! not only with the right attitude and the correct mindset, but also dressed the part. As we embark on our journey’s, there are different courses we must take, that will have us in different positions. Some of us drop out, some finish, and some stay stuck, because, we make SO many mistakes by allowing current trends and fads to dictate our “STYLE IDENTITIES” throughout our journey, this is where we fail. Everything is not for everyone. We must focus on what is right for us, for our body types, our titles, our calling, our position, our brand, making sure that no matter what, WE dress for what we want, and for the course we are on, and walk like we already have it, never apologizing for being your authentic self.

I was raised by impeccably dressed men and women, no matter their jobs or calling, they were dressed right all the time. It was never about paying full price or what was trending. It was about what worked best for them. They were groomed, their clothes were, neat, clean, tailored and the women were SNATCHED. They made sure that I was dressed appropriately for whatever I was going after or whatever event I was going to, so that I could stand out in a crowd, (not to compete), but be noticed for my gifts and purpose, yet being humble at the same time. I was also taught to never ever leave my house looking less than my best or like no one loved me, even if I was going to the bodega (corner store). My dad always said” you never know who you might meet on your way somewhere, so always look and be at your best” That was a time when the community no matter their financial status, cared enough to make sure that the children always looked their best.

After High School, I immediately entered the entertainment and fashion industries from modeling to dancing to performing. It was through those blessed experiences and opportunities that I understood and applied the lessons shown and taught, of the importance of showing up confident and looking my best, as well as dressing the part for the brand I was representing, be it my own or someone else’s. Dressing right can build confidence and open doors for you that you did not expect. Now, everyone wont or did not have the same upbringing or community that I did. Therefore, it is important to have the right TEAM by YOUR side to help you understand your “STYLE IDENTITY” it is key. When you look good you feel good, it shows in your brand. I work with a lot of Diverse clients and no 1 look is the same. My goal is to make sure that you represent YOUR BRAND IN EXCELLENCE! I don’t want you looking like the next this or that or who wore it best. My gift my goal, and my purpose, is to execute and assist in creating a strong “STYLE FOUNDATION” with what God allows my EYE’S TO SEE, that we can build up over time. Here is my reason why!

God does not make duplicates, we are a designer original. We must Celebrate our uniqueness in our brands, by dressing in our own unique way. WE ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE, NOT TO BE LIKE THE REST, YET TO STAND OUT AND BE THE BEST IN THE ORIGINAL DNA FOR OUR BRAND, AND OUR PURPOSE.
