INVEST IN YOU
Hello, This is David Anthony of David Anthony Image Consulting. Formerly Nuvizions Intl. This Is my first blog for MY NEW, MY NEXT. It is 1:00pm on this glorious Monday afternoon, and the lyrics I’ve been singing all day are, “COME ALONG AND RIDE ON THIS FANTASTIC VOYAGE” I want to invite you to jump with me, to take a leap of faith, & to invest in you! YES, I have changed the name of my brand, WHY YOU ASK? Let me explain.
I was at a cross roads recently, where I had to decide, to invest in me or to give up and continue to work a job, and run my business. I was being shown signs that it was my time, time to JUMP….TO LEAP….TO EMBRACE CHANGE…TO WORK ON MY BRAND. I spent so much time over the last 7 years making sure my clients understood their “STYLE IDENTITES” that I got lost in doing more for others than I did for me. Once I decided to leap, I stood still silenced myself, and let go trusting that God will take care, support, and provide. It was scary I was nervous, I was unsure if I should jump or run and hide. Then one day a client inquired, asking me to style them for an event. I asked my normal vetting questions and the whole time the client was talking about money and how much they did not want to spend, but how they wanted the best and wanted to look good. Then they said are you expensive… you look expensive… can I afford your services? These are questions or statements I hear often. But this was the first time I silenced myself before answering. Once I opened my mouth to respond what I said next, not only shut the client up, but it impacted me and made me look deeper into myself. I replied, “WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO INVEST IN YOURSELF”?
As an image consultant, my first thing is to assess what YOU have invested in so far for your brand. Then I work with you to take your “STYLE IDENTITY’ For your brand to the next level, to enhance your brand. However, was I doing the same for my brand…. THE ANSWER WAS NO!
I knew I needed to walk away from that job and from certain life altering situations, so that I can become my best self for my purpose. I quietly put myself through two on line courses and began to study my craft again. In the first class, we were asked WHO ARE YOU, WHO IS YOUR BRAND, WHAT DOES YOUR BRAND STAND FOR? That lead me to dig deeper and to quiet my inner self, so that the voice of my purpose (GOD) could be heard. I know that I am lead (or called) to specific clients and because of the supernatural leading I had to make sure I was investing in my growth and my purpose as an image consultant. To be able to invest in others is a gift, to serve, or assist, and help others access and achieve their dreams is a purpose bigger than me, but it is what motivates me. I knew I was more than a stylist that word is over used and watered down. My purpose has more meaning. “I AM ABOUT THE TOTAL PACKAGE”
Why did I choose the name I chose? Because in the art of Branding, you must be specific about what you call yourself and who you are. David Anthony is what a set of Cousins called me, and the IC in Image consulting comes from another nick name I was called which was ‘EYES DAVID” DAVID ANTHONY IC (IMAGE CONSULTING) WHAT DOES MY EYE SEE? Good question, that can only be answered after we meet and break bread or talk in person and IC what you are willing to INVEST IN YOURSELF. Because what I see is not born in the natural it is an investment in the inner self to bring out your true purpose in your brand and “STYLE LIFE OR “STYLE IDENTITY” to help you understand your presence on social media and your, in person appearances.
In closing, life and circumstances pushed me beyond my own strength, yet focusing spiritually taught me to press on. “TO WALK IN YOUR PURPOSE, YOU MUST BE WILLING TO INVEST IN YOU, AND THOSE THAT ARE CALLED TO HELP YOU”
Today, let this truth sink down deeply into your heart. Don’t be discouraged by what you can see, instead be ENCOURAGED by what you can’t see! Put your shoulders back and GO OUT WITH FAITH AND CONFIDENCE, knowing that his gracious hand is upon you!
